Winkhaus Polska Sp.Z.O.O.

MIGA issued a $2.5 million guarantee to Mercurat Beteiligungs Gmbh of Germany for its investment in the expansion of a hardware and fittings production plant in Leszno. The guarantee covers the risks of transfer restriction, expropriation, and war and civil disturbance.

The expansion will involve the construction of a new building adjacent to the existing Winkhaus Polska plant and installation of new machinery and technology. The plant will increase the production of high-quality door and window hardware.

Approximately 100 local jobs will be created by the project. Staff will be trained in all aspects of the production process, including modern manufacturing techniques, sales, marketing, management, and distribution. A number of inputs to the project, such as packaging material, cases, and pallets, will be procured locally. The project is expected to generate a significant amount of annual export revenues and taxes for the government.
