The Coca-Cola Export Corporation, a U.S. company, and Ringnes A.S., a Norwegian company, have established Warszawa CocaCola Bottlers Ltd., a joint venture company that will construct soft drink bottling facilities in Warsaw. Ringnes has also established a separate joint venture company, Bydgoszcz Coca-Cola Bottlers Ltd. in Bydgoszcz, Poland. These projects will serve the Polish soft drink market. Through the construction of new bottling factories and the establishment of a new transportation and distribution system, the two projects will create 484 new jobs and provide $7.5 million in annual tax revenue for the Polish government. The projects will also generate substantial income for local suppliers of bottles, crates, trucks, and other major inputs. MIGA has issued three separate insurance contracts covering the equity investments of the Coca-Cola Export Corporation and Ringnes. The total guarantee amount of $16 million covers the risks of currency transfer and war and civil disturbance for fifteen years.
