Boosting Sustainable Farming and Food Security in Africa

The Silverlands Fund, backed by MIGA, has been supporting agribusiness investments in 13 countries throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. Over the past few years, the Silverlands Fund has reached half a million farmers by investing in agribusinesses that work in fruit, soy, poultry and other value chains, contributing to improved food security and self-sustainability for agricultural production in the region. 

The Silverlands Fund is constantly looking to improve the management of the vineyards, providing the surrounding community with quality job opportunities in Namibia.

In Zambia, The Silverlands Fund is providing training on key areas of cattle and crop production to senior staff members, who in turn convey the knowledge to other herdsmen and farmers in an understandable and practical manner.

The Silverlands Fund is helping households use improved management practices to increase the volume and quality of their livestock in Zambia. This project is also offering training to women to help them earn a living and increase their household incomes.

The Silverlands Fund is helping to boost poultry farming in Tanzania. This project supports smallholder farmers through new technologies and improved market access.

Good jobs are the surest pathway out of poverty. MIGA’s project is transforming farmers’ lives in Namibia by stimulating job creation and economic transformation. Martha tells us her story.
