To establish and operate a branch bank in Poland, Société Générale received $14.4 million in loan and equity guarantees from MIGA. The Warsaw branch will provide a wide range of advisory and financial services, including trade finance and medium and long-term lending. The project will contribute to the development of Poland's financial markets, an effort actively supported by others in the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund. The new branch will create twenty-two new jobs. MIGA coverage will protect the investment against the risks of currency transfer and expropriation.
