MIGA has issued a total of $3.6 million in guarantees to this French hotel company's equity investment in three separate hotel companies (to eventually encompass a total investment of $122.7 million) that will construct hotels in several locations in Madagascar. Savana will operate the hotels after construction is completed. Savana's garden hotels are targeted to attract upscale tourists to Madagascar. The risks insured by MIGA under the contract of guarantee are expropriation and war and civil disturbance for 15 years.
