MIGA issued $0.9 million in coverage to Italian Technology & Innovations S.r.l. for its investment in the construction and operation of an air cargo complex and catering center in Bishkek. The guarantee covers the investment against the risks of transfer restriction, expropriation, and war and civil disturbance.

The new facilities will enable Manas International Airport to better serve increasing incoming and outgoing traffic and attract international airlines. The project will introduce modern technology in transporting high-value, perishable agricultural items, which will have a substantial positive impact on local food suppliers. Local staff will be trained in all aspects of airport services, including cargo management, modern catering techniques, and sales and marketing. Continuous on-site training in quality control, logistics control, and administration will be made available to staff.
