Susumu Takahashi

Susumu Takahashi is Head of Japan at the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the political risk insurance and credit enhancement arm of the World Bank Group.

He is responsible for MIGA’s business development efforts and key partnerships in the region as well as development of action plans and workstreams to implement MIGA’s strategy, guarantee business and targets with focus on origination, deal execution, product development, and innovation.

Susumu joined the World Bank group in 2019 working as an infrastructure specialist at Infrastructure Finance, PPPs and Guarantee (IPG) group of the World Bank, where he led preparation and structuring of bankable infrastructure projects covering EAP, SAR and part of ECA region. Prior to joining the Bank, Susumu was Manager of Mitsubishi Corporation, one of the largest Japanese investment firms and leading multiple greenfield infrastructure developments and M&A transactions through arranging project financing mainly in Asia and Latin America. Susumu also worked at UN agencies managing several renewable energy projects in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa and formulating PPP structures.
