Joerg Riecken

Mr. Joerg Riecken is a Chief Counsel in the Legal Affairs and Claims Group of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the political risk insurance and credit enhancement arm of the World Bank Group. He has more than 20 years of experience working on complex cross-border projects and financings in all regions and sectors.

Prior to joining MIGA in 2009, Mr. Riecken was a senior counsel in KfW, the German development bank, where he advised on project and export financings as well as other types of financings. He also worked for a major international law firm in Germany where he specialized in project finance, acquisition finance, banking and energy law.

Mr. Riecken is admitted to the bar in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He holds an LL.M. degree from the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC, and a Ph.D. degree (Dr. jur.) in law from Heidelberg University in Germany.
