Bering Netherlands B.V., a Dutch company, used a $6 million MIGA guarantee to support its participation in the privatization of a potato and grain processing company in Torun, Poland. Bering's acquisition of a majority interest in Torun-Pacific, Ltd. will facilitate installation of modern equipment and development of new export markets in Europe. These changes will make the project a net foreign exchange earner. MIGA's guarantee covers currency transfer, expropriation, and war and civil disturbance.
