MIGA issued a $0.37 million guarantee to Société Internationale de Plantations D'Hévéas (SIPH), a French company, for its investment to financially restructure Société des Palmeraies de la Ferme Suisse (SPFS), an existing palm oil production company in Cameroon. MIGA will provide coverage against the risks of currency inconvertibility, expropriation, and war and civil disturbance. SIPH is a 45.3 percent owner of SPFS. The balance is owned by the government of Cameroon (27.2 percent), the International Finance Corporation (7.6 percent), and Deutsche Entwicklungs Gesellschaft, the German government investment and development company (19.9 percent).
