MIGA issued $2.7 million in coverage to Banque Nationale de Paris (BNP) of France for its $3 million equity investment in BNP-Dresdner Bank (Bulgaria) A.D. MIGNs coverage was extended against the risks of currency transfer, expropriation, and war and civil disturbance. BNP-Dresdner will increase local access to capital markets and foreign exchange, and will thereby have a positive effect on the development of local companies.
