MIGA Welcomes Bhutan as a New Member Country
WASHINGTON, December 8, 2014—The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the political risk insurance and credit enhancement arm of the World Bank Group, announced today that Bhutan has fulfilled all of its membership requirements to become MIGA’s 181st member.
Bhutan’s membership in MIGA means that direct foreign investment into the country is eligible for the Agency’s investment guarantees. Investors from Bhutan going into MIGA’s other developing member countries may also receive coverage for their investments.
