Keiko Honda Speaks at the Oman 2040 Vision National Conference

Speaking at the National Conference for the Oman 2040 Vision in January 2019, Keiko Honda indicated that MIGA currently supports over $23 billion of private investment for power, telecommunications, transportation, water and manufacturing sectors. Ms. Honda emphasized that MIGA is following with great interest the Oman2040 plan to attract and enhance the role of the private sector, especially cross border investors.

Public financing, including government financing and loans from Multilateral Development Banks are not enough to fill the financing gap to build the infrastructure needed, emphasized Ms. Honda.  Private investors need to be able to invest while opening access to long-term finance to governments to build and operate infrastructure.
