World Bank Group Data Privacy Day 2021
Data is undoubtedly a valued and significant asset. Collecting and sharing data is key to conducting business in today’s global digital economy. Data Privacy is more relevant now than ever and has become central to how an organization can maintain trust and safeguard the data they collect or process.
January 28 is the World Bank Group Data Privacy Day, which commemorates the 1981 signing of the first legally-binding international treaty dealing with privacy and data protection.
On January 27 and 28 this year, the Bank Group hosted a series of Data Privacy Day virtual events to help raise data privacy awareness—internally and externally, promote data protection best practices and maintain trust in the institution.
MIGA’s Vice President and Chief Risk, Legal and Administrative Officer, Ethiopis Tafara, Director and General Counsel, Aradhana Kumar-Capoor, and Chief Counsel for Operations and Policy, Shamali de Silva joined the events.
