On May 24 and 26, 2016, The GRI Club Infra held the first edition of GRI Infra South America, gathering more than 90 leaders and executives from the infrastructure segment from Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, The United States, France, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay at the Plaza Hotel, in New York. Issues such as the bottle neck and solutions to unlock investments in the energy, social infrastructure, sanitation, wastes and transportation were discussed.

The meeting had Graeme Conway, head of Americas from Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets, as keynote speaker, who pointed out that Latin America is in the horizons of the international investors. In his vision, despite the institutional and political risks, the investors are still interested in the region, due to the numerous opportunities and gap in the necessary investments for more competitivity.
