We regret to announce the cancellation of our Annual MIGA Gender CEO Award event (originally scheduled for March 5, 2020) due to safety concerns related to the coronavirus. We appreciate your understanding and please keep following us here as well as on Twitter (@MIGA) and LinkedIn (MIGA).

Our Gender CEO Award recognizes leaders with a record for creating opportunities for women and promoting their advancement or promoting gender equality while contributing to the World Bank Group’s twin goals of reducing poverty and boosting shared prosperity.

Although the event has been cancelled, the 2020 awardee remains Ms. Aïssata S. Béavogui, Director General, Guinea Alumina Corporation. The theme for this year’s Award is “Women Driving Growth in Africa” in honor of. Ms. Béavogui, who oversees the implementation and strategy for sustainable development in the largest greenfield investment in Guinea, providing a leading example of how the mining industry can operate throughout the region. She is the first woman to hold the position of Director General in an international company in Guinea.
