Sarvesh Suri

Sarvesh Suri is Director for Climate, Energy, Extractives, Capital and Financial Markets Operations at the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the political risk insurance and credit enhancement arm of the World Bank Group. He is responsible for developing strategies, product applications and market coverage toward meeting the World Bank Group's climate and Paris Alignment goals.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Suri was Senior Manager for Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), based in Jakarta. In that capacity, he oversaw an investment portfolio of US$2.4 billion and managed a team that facilitated investments of almost US$500-1,000 million and provided advisory services of about US$6-8 million on an annual basis. His areas of focus were: development of local infrastructure; support for the region’s capital and financial markets; advancement of the climate change agenda; and expansion of domestic manufacturing aimed at local employment generation.
Previously, Mr. Suri had been in various leadership, client facing and operational positions in IFC, across Asia and Washington, D.C.
Mr. Suri holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi University.
