Investor Information Services
MIGA’s Online Investor Information Services are a valuable resource for information on investment-related issues and business opportunities in developing countries. For more than ten years, the agency’s award-winning information and knowledge portals have helped some 80,000 investors, advisers, and investment promotion practitioners make sound investment decisions in developing countries.
MIGA’s information and knowledge services platform includes the web-based FDI.net (www.fdi.net), PRI-Center (www.pri-center.com), and FDI Promotion Center (www.fdipromotion.com). The agency is also the principal content provider of FDI-related information for the World Bank’s Development Gateway.
In November 2006, MIGA consolidated its existing online investor services into a single portal—FDI.net—offering prospective foreign investors the information needed to make informed investment decisions. Site users can access free information about privatization and investment opportunities in emerging markets, including the latest news about business environments. more
To complement FDI.net, MIGA launched a new service in November 2006, the Political Risk Insurance Center. PRI-Center is a one-stop portal on political risk insurance, providing investors with the latest intelligence and information on the mitigation of noncommercial risks. PRI-Center provides in-depth analysis on political risk environment and management issues affecting 160 countries, including ratings, research, tools, interactive directories and features highlighting special areas of interest to investors. more
MIGA is also the principal content provider and moderator of the Foreign Direct Investment community of the World Bank’s Development Gateway portal, contributing new resources, covering a variety of issues related to FDI, such as growth and development, international trade, transfer of technology, and policy instruments. more
Until mid-2007, MIGA administered the FDI Promotion Center, a knowledge-sharing and learning portal for investment promotion agencies in developing countries. Today, the site is managed by the Foreign Investment Advisory Service. Building on MIGA’s Investment Promotion Toolkit, the site provides free access to best practice resources to help practitioners update their knowledge and skills. MIGA has launched three regional versions of the FDI Promotion Center in Arabic, Russian and Serbian.
All services are free of charge.
