Disclosure
MIGA’s Policy on Disclosure of Information (available in English, Spanish, and French), aims to enhance transparency and promote good governance, with a view to increasing our development effectiveness and strengthening public trust in the agency. The policy defines MIGA’s obligations to disclose information about itself and its activities. In accordance with the policy, we disclose:
Project Information
Summaries of proposed guarantees (SPGs) are disclosed prior to consideration by MIGA’s Board of Directors (or other relevant internal authority).
- Category A projects: not less than 60 days prior to consideration
- Category B projects: not less than 30 days (except Category B projects under the Small Investment Program (SIP)
- Category C, FI, and SIP (Small Investment Program) projects: not less than 15 days
This SPG includes a brief description of the project, its location, purpose, and anticipated development impact, as well as information about the investors and lenders seeking guarantee coverage and the project enterprise. SPGs are disclosed until contract signing. MIGA will cease disclosure of information if it is determined that MIGA will not be involved with the project.
Upon contract signing, the information in the SPG will be updated to reflect the terms of the project at the time of contract signature. This summary is referred to as a Project Brief.
Environmental and Social Review Summaries are provided for projects assigned an Environmental Assessment Category of A or B and are disclosed together with the SPG. Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, and/or other relevant related documentation provided by the prospective client, are attached to these summaries.
Following contract signing, the Project brief and the project’s environmental and social documents remain disclosed in the project database on MIGA’s website. If all of the contracts of guarantee related to a specific project are expired or cancelled, the project status will be noted as "inactive."
We do not disclose business-confidential information related to clients, internal communications with our Board and management, or personal information about staff.
