MIGA issued its first coverage in Brazil for $22.5 million to the First National Bank of Boston to expand its branch banking capacity in that country. The loan will enable the branch to upgrade its financial services for small and medium Brazilian companies and provide access to scarce medium-term financing. MIGA also issued $22.5 million of coverage to the Bank of Boston to expand its Brazilian leasing company. MIGA's insurance contracts cover the risks of currency inconvertibility and expropriation.
