Agency EVP, Toll Road Project Honored at LatAm Leadership Forum 

MIGA Executive VP, Yukiko Omura, was tapped for the Lifetime Achievement Award at the recent Latin American Leadership Forum held in Miami, in recognition of her contribution to infrastructure development in emerging economies. Also taking home top honors at the forum was the MIGA-backed San Jose-Caldera Highway project in Costa Rica, which was named "Finance Project of the Year."

Case Study: MIGA and Islamic Finance 

A new case study details MIGA’s experience customizing its products to support the unique and complex needs of projects funded through Islamic finance. The study documents key adjustments made to the MIGA’s guarantee contract, resulting in the agency’s first-ever Shariah-friendly guarantee coverage. MIGA provided $427 million in guarantees for an infrastructure investment in Djibouti.   >> more

New Zealand Joins MIGA 

On April 29th, New Zealand became MIGA’s newest shareholder, bringing the number of MIGA member countries to 172. New Zealand signed MIGA’s Convention, completed the ratification process, and made its initial capital contribution to the agency in order to become a full member of MIGA. Investors from the country may now receive MIGA’s guarantee coverage for eligible investments.   >> more
